$3 million bail for man accused in Lafayette Co. triple murder

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Bail has been set at $3 million for Jaren Kuester -- a Waukesha man accused in a triple murder case out of Lafayette County.

Kuester was taken into custody on Sunday, April 28th, after officials discovered a vehicle he was said to be driving, at Willow Park Apartments in Waukesha.

Police have charged Kuester in the death of 70-year-old Gary Thoreson, his wife, 66-year-old Cloe Thoreson and his brother, 76-year-old Dean Thoreson. The three were found dead inside a home in the 9000 block of Phillipine Road in Wiota Township in rural South Wayne, Wisconsin.

Officials do not believe Kuester knew the victims.

Officials were on the hunt for a 1998 Ford F150 pickup truck (blue in color with a blue topper) bearing the license plate of 220-489F. That truck was discovered at the Willow Park Apartment complex. Officials believe Kuester stole that truck from one of the victims in Lafayette County.

Kuester and his vehicle have been returned to Lafayette County. He is due back in court on May 10th.
