HONOLULU – Authorities took an American Airlines passenger into custody after a disturbance on a Honolulu-bound flight Friday morning, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed.Flight 31 from Los Angeles landed safely at 11:35 a.m. local time, and received a military escort.Citing multiple sources, Hawaii's KHNL-TV reports that the man tried to "break through the cockpit door" before being subdued by the flight crew and an off-duty police officer.The unidentified passenger was taken into custody at the airport by federal agents and deputy sheriffs, according to the station.Instagram video shows the man being led off the plane in handcuffs.

Southwest launches new nonstop flights from Milwaukee to Nashville, Cleveland

United flight delayed after 'scorpion reportedly emerged from a customer's clothing'

HOUSTON – A United flight was delayed for hours Thursday after reports of a scorpion crawling from a passenger's clothes – the beleaguered airline's second scorpion-related incident in less than a month.According to the site FlightAware, United Flight 1035 from Houston to Quito was delayed for over three hours at George Bush Intercontinental Airport as customers where ushered onto a different plane before finally taking off.Passenger Daniel Dueñas tweeted, "The captain of my flight just told us it's a scorpion on the plane???!!!!!

2 groups exchange gunfire, stray bullet strikes MCTS bus

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus was struck by gunfire on King Drive near Locust on Friday night, May 5th, a spokesperson with MCTS said."Two groups of people outside the bus, who had nothing to do with the bus, shot at each other, towards each other, and our bus was hit once with a bullet that went through the windshield," Brendan Conway, MCTS spokesman said.There were four passengers on board, five people including the driver, and no one was hurt.After the bus stopped, Conway said all of the passengers disembarked and left the scene.Milwaukee police are investigating this incident.

WisDOT: Traffic crashes result in 41 deaths on Wisconsin roads last month

Preliminary data from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) shows 41 people died in Wisconsin traffic crashes last month, the same as April of last year and slightly above the five-year average of 38.According to a press release from the DOT, the safest month of April since World War II occurred in 2014 with 25 traffic deaths, and the deadliest was in 1973 with 113 deaths.As of April 30, a total of 143 people have died in Wisconsin traffic crashes this year, including six motorcyclists and 17 pedestrians, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
