Racine police investigating death of infant, father arrested

RACINE -- A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection to the death of his infant child.Friday, Feb. 22 authorities were called to a home near Summit Avenue and Rapids Drive in Racine, for a report of a child not breathing.The baby was transported to Children's Hospital, where authorities discovered the infant had injuries that could be cause for them to stop breathing.The baby's father was arrested in connection to the case and is being held in the Racine County Jail.Racine police investigators are interested in any additional information from the public on this incident.

CUDAHY -- The owner of a Cudahy bakery made good on a pledge on Tuesday, Feb. 26 -- a pledge to the family of fallen Milwaukee Police Officer Matthew Rittner.Jen Clark, owner of Jen's Sweet Treats, held a fundraiser for the family two weeks ago -- and on Tuesday presented to the Milwaukee Police Department a donation of $21,599 for the Rittner family.

Report: Facebook content moderators suffer PTSD-like symptoms due to posts they're forced to view

PHOENIX -- A report on a day in the life of Facebook's thousands of content moderators paints a very dark picture.An investigation by The Verge unveiled the dark side of being a Facebook content moderator.Moderators said they're often subjected to poor working conditions and suffer PTSD-like symptoms, as they are exposed to some of the most disturbing posts on social media on a daily basis -- like hate speech and violent attacks.The report said workers joke about self-harm, do drugs on the job, develop severe anxiety or have panic attacks due to the horrible content they're forced to view.The Verge report said most of the moderators interviewed quit after a year.In response, Facebook officials said they would implement, "A rigorous and regular compliance and audit process" for the contractors who employ people to moderate Facebook content." The social media giant's VP of global operations said the company would standardize contracts for these jobs and hold more regular and comprehensive focus groups with vendor employees.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- A woman accused of killing three infants in the 1980s has pleaded guilty in the case against her.Nancy Moronez, 61, on Monday, Feb. 25 entered the plea to three counts of homicide by reckless conduct filed out of Milwaukee County in late February of 2018.She's accused of killing her son and two children she baby-sat.

'I want a refund:' Man prosecutors say punched George Webb manager in the face pleads guilty

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man who was wanted by police for nearly a month after prosecutors said he punched a female employee in the face at a George Webb restaurant has reached a plea deal in the case against him.Raphael Calhoun Jr., 28, on Monday, Feb. 25 pleaded guilty to one count of substantial battery, intentionally causing bodily harm.
