Worker rescued from transmission tower in Oak Creek after suffering symptoms of heat stroke

OAK CREEK -- Oak Creek fire officials say a maintenance worker, working on a transmission tower for Channel 49 had to be rescued on Tuesday evening, September 1st.It happened around 7:00 p.m.We're told the worker was working 300 feet above ground when that worker began experiencing symptoms of heat stroke and heat exhaustion.A fellow worker who was above (at about 500 feet) noticed this, and observed the worker was incoherent, and going in and out of consciousness.The worker at 500 feet was able to lower himself down, and he managed to bring the sick worker down off the transmission tower.

Two people dead after plane crashes, catches fire at Timmerman Airport

MILWAUKEE -- Two people are dead after a small passenger plane crashed at Timmerman Airport on the city's northwest side on Wednesday evening, July 29th.The initial call for first responders came in at 6:11 p.m.The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration is investigation what caused the crash.FOX6 News spoke with a family who's home butts up right to the edge of the airport and saw everything.

Firefighter, ambulance struck by gunfire while helping patient: "We are the good guys"

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee firefighter was struck by gunfire near 40th and Lisbon early Monday, July 6th -- as he was assisting a patient who was having trouble breathing.Officials say the firefighters were dispatched to the neighborhood around 12:30 a.m. MFD personnel assessed, treated and were in the process of transferring a patient into an ambulance when police say shots were fired in a nearby alley.Several rounds struck the ambulance and one struck a 46-year-old Milwaukee Fire Department firefighter.

11-year-old boy seriously injured in hit-and-run crash near 13th & Manitoba

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say an 11-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash that occurred near 13th and Manitoba on Thursday evening, July 2nd.Officers were dispatched to the scene around 7:00 p.m.Police say the boy was struck as he was crossing the street mid-block by a vehicle that was headed northbound.The striking vehicle is described as a late 1990s black Infinity.

Firefighters called out to MillerCoors after explosion in grain blower in brew house; no one injured

MILWAUKEE -- Firefighters were called out to MillerCoors in Milwaukee on Tuesday, June 29th following an explosion in a grain blower in the brew house.Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire that started on the roof after the explosion.There were no reports of any injuries -- but the explosion was loud enough to catch the attention of neighbors."We heard a big old boom!" one neighbor said.
