Two families helped in wake of fire at Milwaukee townhouse

MILWAUKEE -- The American Red Cross is helping two families after a townhouse went up in flames early Sunday, November 8th.Firefighters were called to the home at 68th and Brentwood around 3 a.m.Officials tell FOX6 News the fire appears to have started in the kitchen.Nobody was hurt.

Firefighters battle possible arson fire at home near 26th & Highland; five left homeless

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee firefighters were battling a house fire in a home near 26th and Highland on Sunday morning, November 1st -- and it's being investigated by MFD's arson investigator.Firefighters were called out to the home around 7:00 a.m.Responding crews found heavy fire on the home's first floor, extending to the second floor and eventually the attic space.Five people -- three adults and two children were able to get out of the home on their own.

Man dies after being pulled from Lake Michigan at McKinley Marina

MILWAUKEE -- A man drowned in Lake Michigan near Milwaukee's McKinley Marina early Sunday morning, November 1st.The Milwaukee Fire Department's dive rescue team was called out to the scene around 2:30 a.m.Officials with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office tell FOX6 News they were dispatched shortly after 3:30 a.m.We're told the man was wearing a Halloween costume when he went into the water.Once in the water, the man said: "I cannot swim," and fishermen nearby tried to pull the man from the water, officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department say.

MFD, We Energies called out to building near Locust & Humboldt for carbon monoxide leak

American Red Cross called out to assist after fire on Servite Drive in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- The American Red Cross on Tuesday night, October 27th was called out to assist after a fire on Servite Drive in Milwaukee.We're told this fire may have involved a vent fan in a bathroom.No injuries have been reported at this time.It is unclear whether anyone has been displaced -- but Red Cross volunteers were responding to the scene.The Red Cross said on Twitter earlier Tuesday volunteers were also dispatched to a fire scene in Oconomowoc, and a fire on Lisbon in Milwaukee.
