Bucks open practice to young man who had open heart surgery

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Bucks opened their practice floor on Tuesday, January 28th to a young man who still has NBA dreams.22-year-old Dominique Johnson had a heart transplant back in December of 2012 -- and on Tuesday, January 28th the Bucks let him come to practice.He met with the players and coaches.Johnson is now back in college and hopes to soon be able to play basketball."Talking about playing for the basketball team next season, I talked to the training team about working with me over the summer to get me back in basketball shape and ready for next season," Johnson said."To watch him bounce back his amazing strength, it was hard but at the same time he stayed strong and he stayed true to his conviction that -- 'you know what -- I'm going to get better,'" Johnson's mother, Kitchy Johnson said.Johnson received 14 units of blood, as well as platelets and plasma during his transplant.The Bucks and the BloodCenter of Wisconsin want to remind people they need donors.The Bucks are holding their annual blood drive on March 4th.

Clippers give Bucks a beatdown 114-86

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks were called out by coach Larry Drew after failing to give a good effort in a 25 point home loss to Atlanta Saturday night; they just couldn't respond against a far superior L.A. Clippers team during a 114-86 beatdown at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Monday evening.

Hawks crush Bucks 112-87

MILWAUKEE (WITI)-- Despite Brandon Knight's 27 point night, the Bucks fell 112-87 to the Atlanta Hawks.Ersan Ilyasova had a double double with 11 points and 13 rebounds and John Henson picked up a double double off the bench; 10 points and 10 rebounds.Atlanta's Paul Millsap lead the Hawks with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Louis Williams added 18 off the bench.The Bucks  host the Clippers Monday the 27th at 7:00 p.m. CT.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned Bucks' Larry Sanders has been given the "thumbs up" to play when the Bucks visit the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, December 27th.Sanders has been out since he injured his right thumb in a bar fight on November 3rd.Sanders tore a ligament in that thumb, and had surgery on November 11th.The fight occurred at Apartment 720 in downtown Milwaukee.Sanders is accused of hitting a man in the head with a champagne bottle and claims he was protecting himself.
