MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee's 50th annual Veterans Day Parade will be held on Saturday morning, November 9th.The parade will step off this year from the intersection of Wells Street and Plankinton Avenue at 11 am on Saturday.

Enjoy Halloween fun for the family at Hawthorn Glen

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Recreation’s “natural alternative” to the usual haunted houses is returning for another year -- and that's where Studio A's Brian Kramp found himself on Wednesday, October 9th.Family Fun at Halloween Glen encourages youth to learn about nature through a fun and interactive program in the outdoor setting of Hawthorn Glen, Milwaukee Recreation’s 23-acre nature center at 1130 N. 60th St. (see map below).The program, now in its 20th year, will run every half hour beginning at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12.

Families grill out, have fun in Co. parks for Fourth of July

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- On this Fourth of July holiday, we saw summertime weather -- with partly sunny skies and warm temperatures in the 80s, leading many to head outdoors to take in some patriotic celebrations.The aroma of food being grilled up inside Milwaukee's Lincoln Park drew the crowds on the Fourth of July -- and fortunately, cooks weren't fighting the elements to prepare it.Clint Hardy took care of the brats, while ribs cooked up on another grill.But it's not just about the food.

Wauwatosa Fourth of July Parade marks 80th anniversary

WAUWATOSA (WITI) -- It's one of the biggest Fourth of July parades in the Milwaukee area, and on Thursday, July 4th, the Wauwatosa Fourth of July Parade celebrated its 80th anniversary.The parade didn't start until 9:00 a.m., but hundreds lined North Avenue as early as 5:00 a.m. to get front row seats.

Whitefish Bay marks 60th anniversary of Fourth block party

WHITEFISH BAY (WITI) -- Decades ago, four friends got together and decided they wanted to celebrate the Fourth of July with a party. 60 years later, that party is still going strong!Organizers of the annual "Sheffield Block Party" in Whitefish Bay say the event starts with a parade and ends with a potluck dinner in the street.There's swimming, baseball games and an egg-throwing contest!"It's really what I think the Fourth of July is all about -- neighborhood, friends, family, and even all this competition the people of Sheffield could do.
