MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Major League Baseball (MLB) announced on Tuesday, April 22nd the suspensions handed down after a base-brawl at the Brewers-Pirates game in Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Brewers catcher Martin Maldonado received a five-game suspension and center fielder Carlos Gomez was suspended three games. MLB suspended Pirates outfielder Travis Snider for two games -- and his teammate, catcher Russell Martin was suspended for one game.
Unless they are appealed, the suspensions will begin Tuesday night, when the Pirates play the Reds and the Brewers face the Padres. All four players also received undisclosed fines for their roles in the incident.
The Pirates' Travis Snider took a big punch from Maldonado -- and the tweet below shows the result.
The Milwaukee Brewers said on Twitter Martin Maldonado will begin his five-game suspension on Tuesday night, April 22nd.
Carlos Gomez is appealing his three-game suspension.
