Packers Davante Adams promotes unique, wooden 'The One7' watch: "I want everybody to wear it"

GREEN BAY -- Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has his insurance and truck ads on TV. WR Jordy Nelson promotes the state of Wisconsin, but WR Davante Adams has something much more unique.

Adams knows who he is off the football field.

"I am all into fashion and different things like that. I don't like being like the rest of the crowd," Adams said.

Over the years, Adams has built up quite the shoe collection, which has given him a unique look, and now, he's stepping up his interest in watches -- specifically a wood watch known as the Garwood.

"It's the lightest watch that I have. You only feel it on the top of your wrist. There's each individual links of wood that you can get taken out -- just like any other watch, and it's a lot lighter than any of the other watches that I have," Adams said.

The Garwood Company found its place in the market with a half-dozen models and is now unveiling its first celebrity watch.

"Obviously this one right here, the best of all. This is the best. I mean, this is a treat right here. This is 'The One7' watch right here, and they are going to come with the darker wood, and soon to come, other color faces with my logo in there as well," Adams said.

Michael Garwood, who founded the company, grew up in northern Wisconsin.

"The watch itself was kind of a test product that turned into a viable business, and then the Davante part is just gravy right? Me being a fan since before I was born, it's exciting to know that my favorite NFL team and players are enjoying the watch," Garwood said.

"I told Aaron about it and I showed him my watch as well. He grabbed my phone and he was looking at it and he said 'wow, that's different. I've never seen anything like that.' I asked him if he would wear something like that, and he said 'definitely,'" Adams said. "I want anybody and everybody to wear it."

Adams readily admits that being healthy, playing good football for the Packers and conducting himself in a positive manner are his top priorities. That's how doors get opened for players trying to build their personal brand.

"It's a perfect gift for your son, your uncle, whoever. I don't see how it gets any better than that. It's pretty affordable. It looks great and you get "The One7" logo on there, if you are a Davante Adams fan," Adams said.
