MILWAUKEE -- NASCAR superstars such as Matt Kenseth of Cambridge and Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace came to Milwaukee to compete against local stars in the ASA Midwest Tour’s tribute event, the Swiss Colony Howie Lettow Memorial 150 presented by raceteamgear.com at the Milwaukee Mile.
Rusty Wallace hasn't raced for six years, but came out of retirement for the Lettow Memorial. He said he forgot about the challenges on the track after blowing out an engine Tuesday morning.
Wallace was the last racer to go through the qualifying round, and he did not make the top 26. Wallace was slated to race in the 150, but said he was disappointed in his qualifying run.
In addition to the 150-lap ASA Midwest Tour event, the Big 8 Series Limited Late Models and the ASA Midwest SCAG Trucks will be a part of the festivities at the historic one-mile oval.
