"A different kind of workout:" JJ Watt trains with Pewaukee Fire Department -- in full gear!

PEWAUKEE -- Everyone loves JJ Watt, the Pewaukee native and former Wisconsin Badgers player who serves as a defensive end for the Houston Texans, and recently, he headed back to Pewaukee -- to his hometown fire station with his dad, to "Beat the Heat" and pay tribute to some real heroes.

Officials with Gatorade posted to YouTube on Wednesday, August 10th video of JJ Watt training with Pewaukee firefighters.

In the video, Watt says: "When I was little, whenever I would visit the fire station, I was scared of the trucks. I was scared of the ambulances -- because I would only associated them with the possibility of my dad getting hurt."

Watt's father was a firefighter for 28 years for the city of Waukesha Fire Department before he retired.

JJ Watt took part in this training as a professional athlete, to see what it's like to be a firefighter.

"I know that we're different kind of athletes, but I know that you guys are athletes too. So I wanted to try out a different kind of workout," Watt said.

Watt's father, John Watt was on hand at the fire station with his son.

"My dad always told me how hard it was, so hopefully you guys can show me the ropes today," JJ Watt said.
