Reagan Imhoff shares passion for art, Harley-Davidson
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- School may be out for eight-year-old Reagan Imhoff. But there's not much time to let loose and be carefree. That's because this young lady -- already known for her work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, has spent at least part of her vacation honing her craft as an artist.
"I've been taking an art class. It's been really cool. We've been doing things like self portraits and little 3-D shapes and stuff like that," said Reagan.
Reagan is putting what she's learned to the test in front of artist Mathew Hintz. In the process, the two have become co-creators of a work of art that features the 2013 Harley-Davidson Softail Breakout for the upcoming 110th Anniversary Celebration.
"I think it`s pretty neat that I get to have my artwork in display," said Reagan.
Hintz has worked with the Styling Department at Harley-Davidson for nearly 20 years. He created several works for his show called "Heavy Duty." But he needed a little help from Reagan.
The chemistry between Hintz and Reagan was there in an instant. When they got together to talk about what the painting should look like, they didn't waste any time jumping right in. But Reagan had one request -- some of the piece had to be done in her favorite color, purple.
"I just took some purple paint and I just splattered my hands all over it," said Reagan.
In fact, Reagan says it took her four days to get all the paint off her hands. But it was worth it -- this opportunity gave her a chance to channel her love for painting, freestyle, and being independent.
The painting will be auctioned off from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28th at Turner Hall. Reagan is also set to ride in the Harley-Davidson parade on Saturday.
