WWE legend 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes dead at 69

Virgil Runnels, better known as WWE Hall of Famer “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, passed away on Thursday. He was 69.

WWE confirmed the news in a statement, calling Runnels "one of the most captivating and charismatic figures in sports entertainment history." The statement continued:


Runnels, who was known for his polka dot tights, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007. He is survived by four children, including "Goldust" Dustin Runnels and "Stardust" Cody Runnels, who both followed in their dad's footsteps to become wrestling superstars.
