Wisconsin DHS: Coronavirus cases up 2,712; deaths up 42

The number of positive cases of COVID-19 rose by 2,712 on Thursday, Jan. 14, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported, for a total of 515,982.

There have been 5,290 deaths in the state, with 42 new deaths reported by state health officials Thursday.

Of the positive cases, 22,804 have required hospitalization (4.4%), while 482,669 have recovered (93.6%), making for 27,862 active cases (5.4%).

More than 2.4 million have tested negative. More than 2.9 million have been tested.

As for the coronavirus vaccine, state health officials announced Thursday, Jan. 14, that 195,152 doses have been administered.
