Packers gear sells like crazy ahead of NFC Championship game

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- Have you caught the Green and Gold bug yet? It is spreading fast. Packers fever is in the air and Packers gear is selling like crazy as fans show off their pride.

"Here we go... here we go ...Wow... this is like dying and going to heaven here!" said Keith Kroening as he shops at Green and Gold Zone in West Allis.
He is on his way back from Lambeau Field, to home in Indiana. And he is no Colts fan.

Kroening is still smiling after seeing the Packers beat the Cowboys, and needs something new to cheer on his favorite team.

"You know,  you get another couple layers like you need at Lambeau," he said.

This weekend, Kroening will root for the Pack as they fight for the NFC title in Seattle.

"It's a tough place to play for anybody,  but I think Green Bay can pull it off, and I think they will," he said.

Green and Gold Zone is full of anxious and excited fans, all with the same idea. They're buying jerseys, shirts, and and whatever else catches their eye.

"Whatever has got a G on it works," said Gary Anders, co-owner of Green and Gold Zone.

Anders and his wife Brigid say the first customer was outside before they even opened. They will stay busy as long as the Packers keep winning.

"Even people that are not historically major fans, start getting caught up in the hype," said Anders.

"The favorite shirt right now is the North Division, six player," said Brigid Anders.

Besides apparel other items that are Packers cups, plates, and anything that would be perfect to have a Packers party on Sunday.

But after Sunday, could the Green and Gold go all the way? Kroening is afraid to say it too loudly.

"They`ve already beat the Patriots they can win the Super Bowl," he said.

Green and Gold Zone says there won't be any special gear ahead of this weekend's game, but there will be a whole slew of new merchandise if the Packers win the NFC. That gear could come in over several days next week.
