"Their good is really good:" Get your Good Friday fish fry fix at Serb Hall

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Of course, another major staple of Good Friday in Milwaukee, the fish fry -- and nowhere is it bigger than Serb Hall. It takes a lot to put together America's largest fish fry.

Batter it up and let it sizzle! The Serb Hall kitchen in Milwaukee is working hard to serve the Good Friday crowd.

"This is the biggest fish fry of the year for us," said Serb Hall Public Relations Director, Bob Milkovich.

The hall is filled with diners ready to get their fried fish fix.

This was Hattie Patterson's first time at Serb Hall.

"I am very hungry. My friend Val is always talking about how good the fish fry is here. So, I suggested we come here for Good Friday," said Patterson.

Others, like Danielle Ratkowski, know what to expect and keep coming back.

"I've been coming to Serb Hall for awhile now and their good is really good. So, I always come," said Ratkowski.

Serb Hall's Bob Milkovich knows the expectations. That's why preps for this meal take more than a day.

"We started probably at the beginning of the week and the closer we get to Good Friday, we have more people in the kitchen who have their jobs to do," said Milkovich.

Bob says they'll serve more than 3,000 people -- and they won't just dine in.

"Drive-thru just like McDonald's and a walk up window," said Milkovich.

"I was married here. I've always enjoyed the food. I always enjoy coming back and kind of reminiscing about the good times I've had here," said Ratkowski.

Making it a memorable and delicious way to kick off Easter weekend.
