Sussex school bus accident; parents want answers after boy's death

Parents want answers about how a school bus could hit and kill a student in Sussex. As their questions swirl, community churches are set to host a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3 at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church (N59W22476 Silver Spring Drive). All are invited.

The church is right across the street from Silver Spring Intermediate School – where a school bus hit and killed a 5-year-old boy. The child was a 4K student at Willow Springs Learning Center

FOX6 News was told by multiple parents that the kids walk in front of the school buses to get to the sidewalk. Other parents say they want changes immediately.

"Do not let little kids off the buses once they’re picked up, and you fix this problem," said Waleed Edoud, parent.

"I think these kids need to be watched better and have more parents around or volunteers or whoever. We’ve already offered to volunteer also," said Robert Hildebrandt, parent.
