Suspect arrested in Racine homicide

RACINE (WITI) — 44-year-old Lucinda White of Racine has died after being shot multiple times late on Wednesday, January 16th.

The shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday near 6th and Villa St. in Racine. White suffered gunshot wounds to the arm and head.

White was initially taken to Wheaton-Franciscan All Saints emergency room. Later, she was flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital -- where she later died.

White's ex-boyfriend, Ryan King, is in custody and faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide. But he's nowhere in Wisconsin. Police from a drug task force in Nashville, Tennessee pulled over King on Thursday, January 17th.

Tennessee officers noticed King was exhibiting several indicators of extremely nervous behavior. He also admitted there was a weapon in the vehicle and that he had a previous felony conviction.

That admission gave police probable cause to search King's car. As they were doing so, the officers received an alert through dispatch that the vehicle they stopped matched the description of one that was possibly involved in the Racine homicide. King was taken into custody at that point.
