MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- It may be billed as the BIG GIG, but Summerfest certainly makes for a small world.

You expect the Badger red to be pretty prominent at Summerfest, but at Henry Maier Festival Park, the love comes from well-beyond our Badger State borders.

From India to Indiana, where ever there is, getting here has become a must for more than the locals who love it.

"We, clearly, have an audience around the world that`s interested in what`s happening here, in Milwaukee, with The World`s Largest Music Festival," said John Boler, Summerfest chief marketing officer.

Boler says recent national and international media coverage has people from around the world, landing by lakefront.

"Last year, our attendee-base definitely came from our region, as it normally does, but we also hosted attendees from 50 states in the U.S., and over 40 countries," said Boler.

This year, Summerfest continues to covet an eclectic crowd, and one which appears to appreciate all attendees.

"I`ve seen some international people, and I`ve noticed on t-shirts, you know, from several different areas. It`s very exciting. I`m glad to be a part of it," said attendee Jane Page.

Now, the question is, will they make the return trip?

Boler says with all of the positive press Summerfest continues to receive is helping to increase Milwaukee's exposure, and improve the city's reputation as well.
