PRETORIA, South Africa (CNN) -- Former South African President Nelson Mandela has been receiving kidney dialysis and is responding to stimuli, a source with direct knowledge of the situation said Friday.
Mandela, who is on life support, is receiving the procedure, which treats kidney failure.
He been hospitalized for nearly a month for a recurring lung infection.
