(Business Journal) -- The Milwaukee Business Journal reports Harley-Davidson Inc. informed the state of Missouri that it intends to lay off 169 employees in Kansas City, Mo., starting May 11th and continuing through September.
Harley-Davidson, based in Milwaukee, had 800 employees in Kansas City last July, when it ranked No. 50 on the Kansas City Business Journal's list of top area private-sector employers. So the layoff announcement is substantial, representing 21.1 percent of the local workforce.
