Police: 3 shot, wounded in separate incidents in Milwaukee

Milwaukee police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that happened Tuesday, Jan. 5 and Wednesday, Jan. 6. Three people were wounded as a result of the shootings. 

The first shooting happened around 5:37 p.m. Tuesday near 38th and Meinecke. The victim, a 44-year-old Milwaukee woman, sustained a serious gunshot wound to her leg.

A responding Milwaukee Police Officer applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg and she was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation into the circumstances is still ongoing.

The second shooting happened near 60th and Congress around 2 a.m. Wednesday. According to police, one victim, a 49-year-old Milwaukee man, sustained a serious gunshot wound to his leg. A 26-year-old Milwaukee woman received a gunshot wound to her back.

Both victims are being treated for their injuries at local hospitals. The investigation into the circumstances is still ongoing.
