Man killed, another hurt in shooting near 15th and Lapham

MILWAUKEE -- A double shooting left one man dead and another injured early Sunday morning, March 1 near 15th Street and Lapham Boulevard.

Police were called to a residence in the area just before 4 a.m., and found a 22-year-old man who had been fatally shot. A 21-year-old man with a non-fatal gunshot wound was transported to a hospital.

As police investigated what may have led up to the violence, investigators said they were looking for someone who may have been in a white sedan.

Meanwhile, neighbors were shaken by the string of gun-related deaths in the city.

Sarai Sedano woke up to gunfire outside her window Sunday morning.

"It was really scary," Sedano said. "I went to wake him up. That's when it was shot after shot. People were screaming, yelling, 'He's dead!'"

Luis Sanchez helped his family take cover.

"It was right in front of our house, and a shot could have gone through the walls," Sanchez said. "You never know when your last day might be -- over something so stupid. It makes no sense."
