New furniture welcomes visitors to the Bronze Fonz
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee's iconic Bronze Fonz statue along the riverwalk now has a living room of sorts.
For the past five years, the Bronze Fonz has attracted plenty of people and tourists who pose for pictures with the statue -- and then continue on their way. But starting on Friday, September 6th, that could change with the arrival of Fonzie's new furniture.
Marsha Sehler is with the Milwaukee Riverwalk District, which is responsible for this new installation.
"We wanted to warm it up. We wanted to green it up, and we want to make it welcoming for visitors. So what better way than to get this gorgeous furniture?" said Sehler.
Mario Costantini is the creator of the new comforts. The owner of Riverwest's La Lune Collection says he's excited to see Fonzie's living furniture come to fruition.
"It looks beautiful, and, and it's very comfortable, right? So I hope the city can enjoy it, and take care of it," said Costantini.
The new furniture is designed to withstand both wet weather and sunlight.
