"Our four-legged baby:" Couple has professional "newborn" photos taken...featuring their four-legged "child"

ALABAMA (WITI) -- You want to take newborn photos -- but you don't have a child. Just grab your...dog?!

Jan and Chase Renegar from Huntsville, Alabama teamed up with photographer Jamie Clauss -- also of Alabama for a series of professionally shot photographs in which their Jack Russell Terrier, "Snuggles" takes the place of a newborn baby.

Jan and Chase lovingly cradle their "child" in a series of amusing poses that mimic the classic "proud parents" shots that are so "pupular" with new moms and dads.

"The session was meant to be tongue in cheek -- a visual take on how we humanize our pets," photographer Jamie Clauss said.

Snuggles -- whose name seems perfect, given these photos, appears to be relishing all the attention!

These dog parents are photographers themselves -- specializing in weddings.

They have been married for eight years, and describe Snuggles as their four-legged baby.
