WASHINGTON CO. (WITI) -- Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Washington County Wednesday, October 29th, and one of those people had to be taken to the hospital via Flight for Life.
It happened just after 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of State Highway 83 and County Highway K in the Township of Addison.
Washington County Sheriff's officials say upon their arrival at the scene, investigators discovered two vehicles overturned, and two injured drivers.
Sheriff's officials say witnesses indicated a westbound SUV traveling along County Highway K being driven by a 60-year-old Hartford woman failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with State Highway 83 and struck a southbound passenger car that was being driven by a 49-year-old Town of Trenton woman.
The Town of Trenton woman was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated. Sheriff's officials say she appeared to be more seriously injured. She was treated at the scene, and then Flight for Life landed and flew her to Froedtert Hospital, where she has been listed in critical condition.
The SUV's driver was taken to a hospital in Hartford via ambulance. She was later transferred to a hospital in Summit. She is listed in serious condition, but Sheriff's officials believe she will survive.
Sheriff's officials say they're investigating whether the SUV's driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
Names of those involved haven't been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
