"We woke up to sirens, tires screeching and then three loud bangs," said Lacey Vassar, homeowner. "We didn’t know what happened, but there was a ton of damage done."

"There was eight or so police officers here," said Tyler Vassar, homeowner.

Wrecks along that road

The Vassar family lives on a stretch of road near Pennsylvania and Milwaukee avenues. Half of the street is Oak Creek – the other half is South Milwaukee.

Oak Creek police tell FOX6 News that in the last year, they have had only eight traffic stops in the area of this wreck.

South Milwaukee officials said on their side, roughly a three-mile stretch, they have had 25 crashes and issued more than 270 tickets since April 2024.
