Milwaukee standoff suspect facing bail jumping, resisting an officer charges
MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee man is facing time in prison after a recent standoff with the Milwaukee Police Department.

What we know:
24-year-old Martez Grandberry Jr. is charged with resisting an officer and two counts of bail jumping. Two of those charges came from the night he tried to escape the police by leaping head-first out of a window.

Police say he was wanted in a homicide investigation from Jan. 26, but he has not yet been charged. That's the night officers say a 64-year-old man was shot to death near 89th and Mill.

Last Thursday, police say they used Grandberry's fingerprints to track him to this apartment complex at 45th and Hampton.

Court records say officers announced themselves. Knocked on the door and got no answer. But they saw a man looking out the window.
For several hours, police yelled for him to come outside with his hands up, even forming a tactical enforcement unit.
FOX6 News exclusive video shows Grandberry dashing out of a second story window head first. Trying to escape, he dodged officers and ducked under police tape with onlookers screaming in the background. He didn't get far before officers had him in handcuffs.

Prosecutors say police searched the apartment Grandberry was hiding in and found numerous items that identified him and a handgun.

45th and Hampton standoff, Milwaukee
Court records show Grandberry's other bail jumping charge is related to a prior case where he was charged with recklessly endangering safety and operating a vehicle without a valid license back in December 2024.
