Milwaukee police chase; squad rolls over, 2 officers hurt, suspect arrested

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police say two police officers were hurt during a police chase when their squad rolled over on Wednesday evening, April 1.

What we know:
Officials said shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers attempted to make a traffic stop near Teutonia and Congress. This, after police spotted a vehicle wanted in connection to a shooting. Officials said the driver refused, fled and a police chase followed.
During the police chase, a squad car was involved in a collision and subsequently rolled onto its side on northbound I-43 near Keefe Avenue. Two officers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The chase ended when the vehicle stopped after a stop stick deployment at 6th and Concordia. The 24-year-old male driver was taken into custody. Illegal narcotics were located in the vehicle.
