Milwaukee fatal crash early Sunday morning; 2 dead

Two people died in a high-speed crash in Milwaukee early Sunday morning, Feb. 15.

What we know:

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, just before 3 a.m., a car crashed in the area of 36th and Mitchell.

A 61-year-old Milwaukee woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was later identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office as Venus Harding.

A second person in the car was also critically injured in the crash and was taken to a local hospital for severe injuries. That person later died from their injuries. The medical examiner identified this person as 34-year-old Chauntelle Anthony of Milwaukee.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Speed was a factor.

Note: Police initially said one person died and another person was taken to the hospital. MPD told FOX6 on Monday that the second person had since died.
