I-41 open: Burleigh to Watertown Plank closure ends ahead of schedule
I-41 reopens Saturday, Jan. 7 after construction closure from Burleigh to Watertown Plank
MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. - Interstate 41 reopened ahead of schedule between Burleigh Street and Watertown Plank Road on Saturday, Jan. 7.
The interstate was shut down at 11 p.m. Friday so crews could demolish a temporary railroad bridge. It was expected to stay closed for 31 hours into Sunday morning.
On Facebook, the Wisconsin Zoo Interchange North Leg Project announced around 8:10 p.m. Saturday that I-41 had been fully reopened.

Mayfair Road had been established as the primary detour route during the closure.
