Milwaukee residents dig out after Sunday snowfall

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Residents in the City of Milwaukee were digging themselves out of nearly eight inches of snow Sunday morning, December 22nd -- officially putting the four-inch rule in effect.

Anyone parked on the wrong side of city streets is subject to a $40 ticket. Many worked diligently to clear the snow from their vehicles.

"This could be a lot worse" said Jason Metke. "This is heavier than the normal fluff but nothing like that wet stuff."

Residents in the city are also responsible for clearing the snow from their own sidewalks.

Plows continue to run on Milwaukee roads. The City says they have 95% of its equipment out, however motorists are still advised to drive carefully as many streets still have slippery and snow-covered spots.
