MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Zoo is planning to add a parking lot, and permanent new entrance at its western end -- complete with an otter tank!
This is being done to make up for parking the Zoo will lose to the Zoo Interchange reconstruction project.
The state plans to buy about eight acres of the Zoo's 700-stall eastern parking lot for the Zoo Interchange's reconstruction and expansion -- according to the Milwaukee Business Journal.
To compensate for that loss, Zoo officials say a new parking lot is being planned at the Zoo's western side on land the Zoo already owns.
Visitors will enter the new parking lot off of Bluemound Road roughly at the intersection with 106th Street.
An otter tank will greet visitors at this new entrance.
