Milwaukee armed sex assault; 34-year-old man accused, charged

MILWAUKEE - A 34-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of sexually assaulting and robbing a woman near 14th and Kilbourn on Feb. 18. The accused is Tedrick Boone – and he faces the following criminal counts:
- First-degree sexual assault
- Armed robbery

What we know:
According to the criminal complaint, a 911 call was made on Wednesday, Feb. 18, by a 20-year-old woman who stated she was just assaulted in the area near 14th and Kilbourn. The victim stated "the man suspect had a firearm and pulled her behind the building," the complaint says.
Police interviewed the victim who indicated she was walking home from 14th and Kilbourn to her residence around 1:40 a.m. when she noticed a subject following her. That person was later identified as the defendant, Tedrick Boone. The victim told police she went into an alley north of her residence to see if the individual was following her -- and that is where she was confronted by the defendant. The victim indicated the defendant pulled a handgun from his pants and said, "If you say anything, I am going to pull the trigger," the complaint says. The complaint indicates the defendant sexually assaulted the victim.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim said after the assault, "the defendant walked her out of the alleyway and demanded (the victim's) phone." The victim then saw another person in the distance and started screaming for help. That is when the defendant ran north on 14th Street. The victim went to her apartment and called police.

Police reviewed cameras from a location near the site of the alleged crime. It showed a "subject who matches the description of the suspect walked west down West Highland Avenue. Around 2:03 a.m., the subject is seen running north from North 14th Street, crossing West Highland Avenue," the complaint says. Other cameras captured the same subject.

On Feb. 26, an officer was in contact with staff at Repairers of the Breach, located near 13th and Vliet, because "the defendant is known to be a frequent guest there," the complaint says. Officers learned the defendant was on scene at the location. When an officer approached the defendant as he was leaving, the defendant attempted to run away from police. But an officer was able to secure the defendant and arrest him.

Later, a detective spoke to the defendant while in custody. The defendant was asked why he thought he was there, and he stated, "I do have an idea from what I have been seeing in the news," the complaint says. The defendant went to say "he has never had any contact with any girls who attend Marquette, not even to ask them for money," the complaint says.
The detective conducted a search of the defendant's cellphone. According to the criminal complaint, the "defendant's search history showed on February 18, 2026, at approximately 2:15 a.m. and again at 2:40 a.m., he searched 'Marquette University dispatched calls.' At 5:36 a.m., he searched 'Marquette student raped.'" The complaint indicates there were at least a dozen other searches using similar language. The complaint says he "made other searches about 'Milwaukee facial recognition.'"

Boone was scheduled to make his initial appearance in Milwaukee County court on Tuesday, March 3.
