Man held in jail pending charges related to Whitewater domestic disturbance

WHITEWATER -- Whitewater police officials responded Monday afternoon, October 29th to a domestic disturbance during which a child had reportedly been cut that involved one male adult suspect and several family members.

The incident took place at a Whitewater residence just before 4:00 p.m. Monday.

Officials say before officers arrived at the residence, an adult male suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, with two juvenile passengers. Officials say two additional victims had fled the residence and were transported to the hospital for treatment of significant injuries.

Officials eventually located the adult male suspect's vehicle, and a pursuit entailed -- with speeds in excess of 75 miles-per-hour on County Highway S near the intersection of Creek Road -- near Beloit.

Officials say the male suspect had made verbal threats about harming his juvenile passengers.

The suspect was eventually taken into custody at gunpoint and taken the hospital for treatment of injuries.

He is being held in jail, pending charges including: recklessly endangering safety, fleeing to elude, operating with detectable amount of restricted, controlled substance with passenger under 16 years of age, operating after suspension, operating left of center, failure to stop at a stop sign and violating a red traffic signal -- in Rock County. In Walworth County, the suspect could face charges of: three counts of attempted first degree intentional homicide and three counts of false imprisonment.

The suspect is expected in court Wednesday, October 31st. He has not yet been formally identified.
