Man accused of possessing child porn, turned in by daughter-in-law

Frank Alva

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY (WITI) -- A 71-year-old man from Plymouth is accused of possessing child pornography. Now Frank Alva faces ten felony counts of possession of child pornography in Sheboygan County.

According to the criminal complaint, Alva's daughter-in-law called police in Plymouth after Alva had visited her in Valparaiso, Indiana on December 26th. She told officers that while at her home, "she observed Frank viewing naked pictures of young girls on his computer he had brought from Plymouth." The daughter-in-law told the officers the photos "sickened" her -- and "she told her husband, Frank's son, to get Frank out of their home."

Officers then obtained a search warrant to inspect Alva's laptop computer. When he returned to Plymouth from Indiana, Alva met with officers who seized the computer.

If convicted, Alva faces at least three years in prison.
