MENOMONEE FALLS (WITI) -- Kohl’s Corp. announced on Monday, October 21st that it will open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Kohl’s will be open for 28 hours straight, from 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, through midnight the following day.
“Shopping over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend has become a much-anticipated tradition enjoyed with friends and family,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief customer officer in a news release. “As many customers are eager to get a jumpstart on their shopping, we are opening our stores at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day as a convenience to our customers who want to make Kohl’s their first stop.”
The Business Journal reports Kohl’s, along with Milwaukee-based The Bon-Ton Stores Inc., joined the rush to open at midnight on Black Friday in 2011. Toys “R” Us, Target, Sears and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. all opened at 8 or 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving last year.
