Kenosha police investigate report of attempted child abduction

KENOSHA (WITI) -- The Kenosha Police Department took a report of an attempted child abduction on Tuesday, January 20th.

According to police, the child had just gotten off the bus on 60th Street and began walking north on 31st Avenue when a vehicle pulled up alongside her. The vehicle is described as a older model black SUV -- possibly Ford Explorer.

The passenger called out to the child, who ignored the calls and continued walking. The suspect vehicle then left the area going westbound on 60th St.

The driver is described as an African American male in his early 30's. He was wearing a baseball hat. The passenger is described as a white woman in her early 30's with long brown hair.

Although there was no physical contact, the suspects did try to engage in conversation with the child. The Kenosha Police Department asks everyone to report any suspicious activity by calling 262-656-1234 or 911.
