KENOSHA -- Officials with the Kenosha Police Department have identified a body that was found following a brush fire on Wednesday morning, May 18th.
The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Steven Kortright of Kenosha. An autopsy was scheduled to be completed Thursday, May 19th.
The body was found at Simmons Island Park, on Kennedy Drive near 45th Street early Wednesday morning.
Kenosha police and fire officials were called out the park around 12:40 a.m. for reports of a brush fire. When the fire was extinguished, officers located a burned body.
The medical examiner was notified.
