Kenosha County arrest; man wanted for kidnapping, false imprisonment

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. - A 43-year-old Salem man was arrested for multiple felonies in Kenosha County on Thursday, Jan. 17.

What we know:
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department responded near 232nd and 31st just before 8 a.m. to take a wanted felon, Ascension "Chon" Obregon, into custody. Obregon was wanted on several felony warrants.

Patrol deputies, detectives, supervisors, and several members of the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department Tactical Response Team responded to the residence to aid in the peaceful surrender and arrest. All family members were evacuated from the residence.
For approximately two hours, Ascension refused to exit the residence. Negotiators were ultimately able to contact Ascension over the phone and calm him down. He exited the residence and was taken into custody without issue, injury, or any use of force at around 9:40 a.m.
Several charges
Obregon was wanted for:
- Kidnapping
- False imprisonment
- Second-degree recklessly endangering safety
- Intimidation of victim
- Battery
- Disorderly conduct

An arrest warrant had been issued for his arrest earlier in the week.
