MADISON (AP) — A federal judge has sided with a conservative group and ordered that a Wisconsin law at the center of an investigation of Governor Scott Walker's 2012 recall campaign should not be enforced with three weeks until the election.
U.S. District Judge Rudolph Randa on Tuesday, October 14th sided with the Milwaukee-based group Citizens for Responsible Government Advocates in its challenge to the law.
The law was used as a basis for an investigation into Walker's 2012 recall campaign and more than two dozen conservative groups.
A spokesman for the state elections board referred questions to its attorney, Dan Kelly. He did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
The attorney for CRG also did not immediately return a message.
CRG argued in its lawsuit last week that the coordination law is unconstitutional.
