FRIENDSHIP — Sheriff's deputies in central Wisconsin say the case of a mysterious casket has been solved.
The Adams County Sheriff's Office says the owner of the empty casket found on the side of a highway over the weekend has come forward to claim it.
WAOW-TV reports the casket was used in a haunted hayride for Halloween. The sheriff's office says the coffin fell out of a boat that was being pulled by a truck.
When the casket was discovered, the sheriff's office posted a photo of the coffin on its Facebook page with a message to the owner, saying: "It's a little creepy and we'd like to get it back to you."
The owner will soon be reunited with the casket, according to the Facebook post.
