Wisconsin State Fair Park Board discusses options for 2020 amid pandemic
WEST ALLIS -- The Wisconsin State Fair Park Board of Directors and staff are now discussing options that will enable them to provide a "Fair" experience in 2020. The 2020 Wisconsin State Fair is scheduled to run from Aug. 6 to Aug. 16.
In a series of tweets posted on Monday, May 4, fair officials said the following:
Catelyn Picco
"I was really excited back in December," said Catelyn Picco, musician. "I was like, 'It's my third year, here we go!'"
Picco has performed at the Wisconsin State Fair for the last two years, and plans to perform for three days at the Knucklehead Stage in August.
"Every few weeks, it's the anxious feeling, is it going to happen?" said Picco. "Is it going to get canceled? Is it going to get postponed?"
Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley said while State Fair is paramount to the area's economy, smart decisions have to be made.
"We've got to do everything we can to make sure we stay home and save lives here in Milwaukee County," said Crowley.
Picco said she'll continue to stay positive and focused on her passion.
"It's been a dream, and it's been an honor, no matter what happens, and I'm ready to take it on for the next few years," said Picco.
