Holton & Center homicide, man dead: medical examiner

A 32-year-old man was shot and killed in Milwaukee on Thursday afternoon, July 1.

Police said several individuals were involved in a fight when a suspect fired shots near Holton and Center, subsequently striking the victim shortly before 12:30 p.m.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has scheduled an autopsy for Friday.

Multiple people in the area told FOX6 News they heard two gunshots, then saw a man lying down motionless.

FOX6 News was told the victim was a barber, known to the community, and his loss is being felt by many including some strangers who tried to help.

"The cops tried giving him CPR and tried to revive him, but by the time the ambulance came, it was too late," a witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said.
