Harley-Davidson merchandise being shipped around the world
GREENFIELD (WITI) -- Bikers from around the world have converged in Milwaukee for the Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary, and lovers of the brand have been picking up loads of merchandise during their visit.
William Lee traveled from Malaysia for the event. Lee says it is customary to bring back gifts for fellow bikers who couldn't make the trip.
"I spend 48 pieces of t-shirts in Tennessee, just Harley, ship it over. Last night, another 20 pieces of t-shirts, ship it back," said Lee.
The custom runs deep in the entire Harley-Davidson culture, as well.
"I buy some stuff here. I buy some stuff yesterday, I buy some new ones today. I'm going to the other dealer, I am working around," said Arturo Valdez of Guadalajara.
"I bought new mirrors for the bike. He's been looking for that stuff forever. And a wallet, and myself a jacket, and a shirt for friends," said Line Langlois from Toronto. "Every Harley event you go to, you have to pick something up."
UPS has even set up a tent outside the House of Harley for out-of-towners to ship their goodies home. Workers say some riders are shipping back their dirty clothes in order to sport new merchandise during the festival.
Harley-Davidson employees say there have been multiple lines for merchandise streaming out the door.
