Group decorates single-parent homes for Christmas
MILWAUKEE -- The organization "The Voice of the Fatherless Child" helped decorate the homes of single parents for Christmas on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24th.
Volunteers worked to bring some Christmas cheer to single-parent families -- decorating both inside and outside the home.
Volunteers say this is about more than just lending a helping hand.
"We have components that`s sometimes missing in the family. Sometimes it may be the mother, sometimes it may be the father. We wanna be the component to fill in that gap. You can give a child a gift, but to give the full Christmas experience is what we desire to do," Monte Mabra said.
The group also supplies gifts to kids and help the parents with a gift card.
Mabra says he founded the group to use entertainment as a form of intervention to help kids in unfortunate family situations.
