Grafton police seek suspect accused of stealing money, customer's wallet, owner's purse at barber shop

GRAFTON -- Grafton police are seeking a suspect in connection with an armed robbery at Carlene's Plaza Barber Shop near 7th and Wisconsin Avenue.

It happened on Wednesday, December 14th around 5:15 p.m.

Police say the victim(s) reported a suspect entered the barber shop, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

The suspect is described as male, standing approximately 6’1’’ tall and weighing 225 pounds.

The suspect was wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black gloves and athletic style shoes.

Police say the suspect approached a customer, who had just received a haircut and was leaving and pushed him back into the establishment. The suspect then displayed a handgun and demanded money from both the customer and the barber shop's owner.

Police say the suspect struck the customer on the head with the gun, but did not cause any significant injury and medical attention was refused.

The suspect made off with an undetermined amount of money from the cash register drawer, the customer's wallet and the owner's purse

A K-9 unit from the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene, but due to weather and parking lot surface conditions, an accurate track of the suspect was not possible.

It is unknown how the suspect arrived and left the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
