Giving Tuesday: Ronald McDonald House benefits from fundraiser held at McDonald's restaurant
WAUWATOSA -- With Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the books, it was time for Giving Tuesday on December 1st -- a day to give to charities ahead of the holiday season.
The Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee benefited from a fundraiser held at the McDonald's restaurant on Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa.
Between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., 20% of all sales were donated to the charity.
In addition, Milwaukee-area business and community leaders pitched in -- volunteering behind the counter.
"Today is volunteer work. What I'm doing is working the window with Marshall and handing out the food to the customers, saying thank you for their time and their money and their resources," Pat Sinks, CEO of Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corp. said.
Sinks worked at McDonald's when he was 16 years old.
Organizers tell FOX6 News the final amount raised and donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities - Eastern Wisconsin by Marshall Chay’s Wauwatosa restaurant was $750.
