Former Pro Bowl RB Jamal Anderson arrested for alleged felony domestic violence in LA

LOS ANGELES - Former NFL running back Jamal Anderson was arrested in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident at his Los Angeles area home, officials said.
What we know:
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at Anderson's home in the San Fernando Valley late Tuesday morning.
According to Los Angeles County's arrest records, the 53-year-old was booked on Wednesday, November 5. He has since been released on a $50,000 bail.
An LAPD official told FOX 11 that Anderson was accused of "inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, a felony under California Penal Code 273.5(a)."
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment in an unknown condition.
The backstory:
Anderson was a star on the "Dirty Bird" era Atlanta Falcons in the 1990s. He was named an All-Pro and was a Pro Bowler in 1998 and helped lead the Falcons to their first Super Bowl appearance. Atlanta lost to the Denver Broncos 34-19 in the big game that year.
Anderson played from 1994 through 2001, and retired after suffering a knee injury.
The former Falcons tailback is not to be confused with Jamaal Anderson, a defensive end who also played for Atlanta, from 2007 to 2010. Neither former Falcons with similar names overlapped with their playing days.
