Fond du Lac synchronized skating team in French Cup, part of Team USA

It's a special moment the Fond du Lac Blades have been dreaming of.

What we know:

The synchronized skaters from Fond du Lac are gearing up to head overseas to compete in the French Cup. 

The 2025 French Cup for Synchronized Skating is set to take place Jan. 31 – Feb. 1, 2025, in Rouen, France. It's a unique opportunity these 20 ladies have earned, all to compete for Team USA.

What they're saying:

Head coach Jenny McMahon said the team has been putting in work throughout the year, traveling from Wisconsin to Fond du Lac to train three days in a row each week.

"Not many teams get to say that they represent the United States in competitive competition. We are very honored that we've been selected to go," McMahon said. "It's fabulous because it really does represent their hard work, and it represents their entire state."

International pros

What we know:

This isn't the first time the Fond du Lac Blades have been competing at an international level. In fact, just two weeks ago, they competed in Great Britain.

"We actually got second place there, which was really fun," member Layla Raval said.

What they're saying:

"It's been a really cool experience," said Blades member Mikayla Garot. "It's honestly so rewarding. Seeing our supporters in red, white and blue and chanting ‘USA,’ it's just such an incredible experience."

"My team wants to portray the message that your dreams are possible," Raval said.

What's next:

The team will be competing on Friday and Saturday in the 2025 French Cup.
