Fond du Lac County police chase; 2 Milwaukee men arrested
FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Two Milwaukee men were arrested on Monday, Dec. 9 following a police pursuit in Fond du Lac County.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 4:15 a.m. a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving on northbound I-41 near Lost Arrow Road in the Town of Byron.
Officials say the vehicle continued northbound on I-41, eventually taking the Johnson Street exit and headed eastbound, entering into the city for a short time. The vehicle turned northbound on Peters Avenue then westbound on Scott Street before continuing northbound on Rolling Meadows.
The vehicle failed to negotiate the curve south of CTH OO sliding into the steep shoulder where it became immobile. Once the vehicle was stopped, a high-risk traffic stop was conducted.
The driver and passenger were taken into custody.
The driver, identified as a 37-year-old Milwaukee man, had two warrants. The driver was arrested and transported to the Fond du Lac Jail for felony fleeing and eluding, reckless endangering safety, felon in possession of a firearm, and operating while impaired.

The passenger, identified as a 35-year-old Milwaukee man, was initially taken into custody then released without any charges.
The pursuit lasted approximately 8.5 miles. No citizens or deputies were injured as a result of this pursuit.
A Fond du Lac County squad was damaged during the course of the pursuit.
